Prokoviev: Troika (Lieutenant Kijé) - symphonic wind

Prokoviev's  Lieutenant Kijé (Russian: Поручик Киже, Poruchik Kizhe) music was originally written to accompany the film of the same name, produced by the Belgoskino film studios in Leningrad in 1933–34 and released in March 1934. It was Prokofiev's first attempt at film music, and his first commission.

This is the 4th mvt "Troika" or sleigh ride, and is often performed as a Christmas piece.

It is arranged here for symphonic wind (principally a wind dectet (double wind quintet fl, ob,cl, hn and bsn) with bass tuba/double bass. Additional optional parts are provided for piccolo and 2 more clarinets. These parts enhance the arrangement.
